October 23rd, 2012 – AgChat on Agriculture and Politics

AgChat on Agriculture and PoliticsAg+Politics=Policulture The US political season is soon coming to an end with general elections. What are some of the impacts of politics to agriculture? What are some of the policies that agriculture must adapt to? This fast moving topics is the focus of AgChat this week.

  • How is farming involved with politics?
  • How often do you really listen to people with a different political view? Can you have productive convos?
  • Does a politician’s view on farming, ranching & environment affect if you vote for them? What matters to you?
  • What are you concerns for agriculture before and after the election?
  • How will the outcome of the election affect the agricultural part of the farm bill?
  • Will #ag benefit if #FarmBill splits into one bill to help farmers & one to help feed kids & the poor?
  • Do you feel agriculture and food wasn’t/isn’t addressed enough in the election?
  • In which specific ways will Pres Obama’s reelection or Gov. Romney’s election most help #ag? Most hurt #ag?
  • What are your top 3 priorities when decided who/what to vote for?
  • Do you feel as if your vote counts?
  • What is the one executable idea you’ll be working on from tonight’s #agchat?
